I just was given a bottle of Del Dueno Estate Bottled #6657 is this worth anything? It is at least 20 years old and I'm wondering if it is any good. Can some one help me.

Books on Tequila and Tequila history ?

I have started a website here in Denmark with the purpose of spreading the word on Tequila 100% Agave (tequilaclub.dk). But I often feel poorly equipped when it comes to precise knowledge of the history of Tequila and specifics on the production process. I would like to know more of how decisisons were made to make only the Jalisco area true Tequila area and a lot of other questions like it.
Can anybody recommend litterature dealing with these matters?

Best regards
Jacobsson

Casa Noble Anejos

An interesting thing happened to me... Back in April when I started my tequila journey, I purchased a bottle of Casa Noble 5 YR. I tried it a few times but couldn't see what all the fuss was about so I used it for company. It was good but not something to rave about. Last week, while drinking with friends, I tried it again not wanting to drink one of my "better" tequilas. I was shocked. This stuff was good. No not good.. but fantastic! I loved it! I have no idea what happened between my earlier experience and now, but CN 5YR is now one of my favorites. I do have a question however. I see great reviews for both the bottle with silver writing as well as the one with gold. Is there a concensus as to which one is better? Do they taste similar? Is the difference in price worth it. I'd love to hear your guys opinions as I plan on buying another bottle soon --to replace the one I foolishly gave away. Thanx

Ciao

Ground Zero mosque

Sent to me by a user. Here's a commentary by British comedian, Pat Condell, doing a straight piece, about the proposed "Ground Zero mosque." You don't have to like his comments, or agree with him, but it's a pretty pointed statement that some supporters may find hard to refute:

Have to admit, for someone not involved in the debate and living in another country, it's difficult to understand how this building can be found acceptable in that location. Is it a matter of overly-active political correctness, as Condell says? Or a sincere effort to show tolerance and openness?

Will watch for future problems, but the latest upgrade seems stable enough.
Let me know if there are issues to resolve. Still some skinning messes to fix, but they don't affect the board's usability.

The Barber

Guest_gracebbbb_Guest - 08-23-10 13:10 - 0 comments

A man was getting a haircut prior to a trip to Rome. He mentioned the trip to the barber who responded, "Rome? Why would anyone want to go there? It's

crowded, dirty and full of Italians. You're crazy to go to Rome. So, how are you getting there?"

"We're taking TWA," was the reply. "We got a great rate!"

"TWA?" exclaimed the barber. "That's a terrible airline. Their planes are old, their flight attendants are rude, and they're always late. So, where are you

staying in Rome?"

"We'll be at the downtown International Marriott."

"That dump! That's the worst hotel in the city. The rooms are small, the service is surly and they're overpriced. So, whatcha doing when you get there?"

"We're going to go to see the Vatican and we hope to see the Pope."

"That's rich," laughed the barber. "You and a million other people trying to see him. He'll look the size of an ant. Boy, good luck on this lousy trip of

yours. You're going to need it."

A month later, the man again came in for his regular haircut. The barber asked him about his trip to Rome.

"It was wonderful," explained the man, "not only were we on time in one of TWA's brand new planes, but it was overbooked and they bumped us up to first

class. The food and wine were wonderful, and I had a beautiful 28 year old stewardess who waited on me hand and foot. And the hotel - it was great! They'd

just finished a $25 million remodeling job and now it's the finest hotel in the city. They, too, were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us the

presidential suite at no extra charge!"

"Well," muttered the barber, "I know you didn't get to see the Pope."

"Actually, we were quite lucky, for as we toured the Vatican, a Swiss Guard tapped me on the shoulder and explained that the Pope likes to personally meet

some of the visitors, and if I'd be so kind as to step into his private room and wait, the pope would personally greet me. Sure enough, five minutes later

the Pope walked through the door and shook my hand! I knelt down and he spoke to me."

"Really?" asked the Barber. "What'd he say?"

"He said, 'Where'd you get the lousy haircut?'"
