Brand Name: Alipus San Baltazar
Distillery: Los Danzantes
Type: Blanco

Distillations: 2
Gusano: No
Proof: 87.2
Closure: Cork

Agave: 100% Espadin

Visual: Brilliant, no sediment than I can see, some lasting pearls. Leggy.
Nose: Faint smoke, a touch of mothball.
Body/Taste: Nice heft, a bit oily. Good sweetness develops, followed by a nice "macho" kick of alcohol. Moderate numb-numb. Quite smooth for the extra proof.
Aftertaste/Finish: Smoke is present, but not nearly as strong as Sombra. Seems to fade a bit before the finish. Good afterburn. Agave flavors are there, but not overstated or vegetal.
Overall Impression: Elegant, delicate. The higher proof brings out some volatile alcohol nuances, but everything is fairly synchronized, so nothing dominates. I would definitely get more of this if I could, simply because the smoke doesn't stamp out a lot of the lovely peculiarities of the distillate straight from the still. Remarkably smooth for its strength.

Rating: Very Good
