T, is there a way to tell A from B as far as labeling, dating, etc.?  I picked up a couple bottles of what I was told was 8 year but I was under the impression that it was the last bottling (offering) that they did for Phoenician.  Maybe I misunderstood what I was getting.

Tonga, those look mighty tasty from where I'm sitting. Crack one open and tell us just how good it tastes. :drink:

Salud!

We did just that...very enjoyable. While not exactly what we know as Paradiso, it still had that unmistakable 'La Alteña' taste to it. A fair bit of wood as is the case with a 5 year, not quite the Bourbon finish that you would associate with Paradiso, but still flavorful and balanced. Long legs on this one, evaporates off the tongue instead of coating it, and long, lingering finish.

I was sorry to hear that it's going away, but just as well...it would be a Jim Beam corporate bastardation of what once was a great tequila. We were thinking that German Gonzales should reach out and distill something like T1 for them. I'd buy that in a heartbeat just based on the pedigree.

Salud

Just like regular Paradiso, the first bottlings have no lettter in front of the numbers, but my others all have a 'B' in front of the numbers.

I'll post a side x side pic when I get back home, still have another day on road left.

Got back yesterday. Posted a pic on the difference.

I'm not sure of that is a new change, but I love how the back of throes bottles now say "Produced by Tequila Tapatio".

Interestingly enough, I got the B240 two years ago from the Phoenician, the B297 just now and the middle bottle I got from Tequila Joe, now just Joe, or the taster previously known as TJ, something like that.

Wow I am slow. Had no clue that Fielding & Jones, Ltd. was a subsidiary of Beam Suntory. Drinking some Don Nacho repo and Hacienda Vieja repo tonight... great bargain stuff

Gran Centanario green neck tonight. Very enjoyable, long gone though. They have the blue necks still, but I wasn't impressed, not what I first thought with the label change, I probably got the tail end of the previous batch since label changes and recipie changes never coincide.

Finishing off a bottle of Fortaleza Lote21 repo - been open for 4.5 months - getting loads of hard granular cheese on the nose and finish - finish seems a lot longer. Had not revisited this for a month & half and was surprised had slightly different it was

Not only did we find an old Rey Sol, in San Francisco, after at least 8 years on the shelf (according to the guy who works there) but it had just been marked down to $295 from $400. I couldn't believe it was still there after all this time. We're drinking it now to celebrate Tom's new job. The new Rey Sol in the slick wooden box wasn't anywhere near this stuff, same bottle different label (as well as tequila). It wasn't doing it for me, but this old style certainly is.

I am glad that I bought 2 bottles.  I have to say probably my favorite Ocho yet.

Got a bottle of Fortaleza Repo. This may quickly become my favorite repo. Just the right balance of bite, vanilla, spice and agave. Truly wonderful stuff.

I just poured the last remaining glass of Tapatio Anejo that I bought about 6 years ago. It's been a couple years since I've had this juice, wow.
