This area is for items where tequila (and mezcal or other Mexican spirits) appear in the news, in media features, or in events such as Cinco de Mayo celebrations. Anywhere tequila (and mezcal) may be featured is suitable for posting here. Industry news or press releases are always ideal for this area.

While focused on contemporary news and events, and industry items, if you find a historical piece worthy of our attention, feel free to post it here as well.

Anyone can add an item here. Try to avoid duplication - many of our members subscribe to news services or news alerts, so check the list first before starting a new topic, to be sure no one else has already posted it. If you find an alternate link to the same story, or a different take on it, please include it in the existing thread for consistency.

Please keep in mind international and US copyright laws: do not reproduce entire articles or Web pages - just use reasonable snippets. Press releases intended for distribution and legal items like NORMAS can usually be repeated in their entirety, but when in doubt, just copy a portion and provide a link. If you have a question about copyright, feel free to ask the sysop before posting.

Please include a link to the source text as well. Photos or images can be linked from the host site, but please also indicate the source of the photograph in the message.

Comments on these news items are also welcome. Obviously there will be some cross-pollination between this section and the regular tequila section. Links between threads are always a good idea.

Having spent a goodly portion of his life as an editor, writer, columnist and curmudgeon, the sysop begs the members' indulgence if he sometimes veers from the topic to comment on the language, writing style or grammar of the articles posted.
